Beautification Day Success!!

2014-10-11 08.45.36Grounds day was a success!   Plans have been being made for two months in preparation for this day and they were well worth the effort.

A special THANK YOU goes out to Gary Ward for working with us to provide the materials and labor to install the much needed 4th walls to both planting areas around the trees along the front walkway.  He and his guys worked diligently and now the walkway looks complete.  Another special THANK YOU goes out to Scott Daniel for the many hours he spent power washing the front walkways and existing planting stones to help brighten up the area and make it much more welcoming.

We, of course, could not have been as successful without the 20 WLMS family members, 2 Target Volunteer Members, and 15 MCHS Key Club Members that spent their Saturday morning (and well into the afternoon) helping beautify our grounds.  These folks tilled the area, moved fill dirt, compost and mulch, planted 50 plants, put in a heavy duty border along the back walkway, cleaned up the existing planting areas, pulled down vines that were beginning to invade our gutters and roofline, and primed the announcement board in the carpool lane.

THANK YOU to each and every one of you for coming out and making this happen.  This turned out to be a community effort and we sincerely hope everyone sees the difference and wants to join in the next time a grounds day is organized.

To see all the hard workers, before and after photos, please check out our video –> Beautification Day.

We have extra fill dirt, mulch and azaleas on site. If you are interested in leading a follow up grounds day, please contact Kim Avery.
