MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE EIGHTH GRADE FORMAL
It’s Going To Be A Sweet Night…
June 7, 2014
Devil’s Ridge Country Club 7:00-10:00
Please save the date for this special event as our eighth graders celebrate together the final days at West Lake Middle School. Please note that the 8th grade formal is limited to all current 8th grade students who are in “good standing”*. For security reasons, only West Lake students will attend – no outside dates or friends will be admitted.
Invitations were mailed to your home around April 1st. Inside the invitation will be a response card with a permission form on the back. You must have the permission form signed by a parent and on file BEFORE the night of the dance. This form will be used for admission, as no tickets will be issued. Students who do not have a permission form on file will not be admitted into the dance.
Admission will be $25.00. When you receive your invitation, please return the RSVP card, with permission form completed and signed along with a check or money order in the envelope provided as soon as possible, but no later than April 15th in order to help prepare for this great event.
Although the dance is not being held on school property, school rules will apply. There will be chaperones cleared through the WCPSS volunteer system as well as police officers in attendance for security. Dress is semi-formal and no jeans or t-shirts will be allowed. While we do ask students to follow the school dress code, please note that the girls will be allowed to wear strapless dresses.
For security, student drop off and pick up will take place in front of the country club entrance only. Students will not be released prior to the end of the dance unless a parent comes inside and checks them out with a designated chaperone. Please pick your child up promptly at the 10:00 end time, moving through the carpool line as directed by signage.
